Who even reads these anyways?

Well, Hi!

My first blog post, what a momentous occasion.

Not. 

To be completely real, who in the world even reads Blogs anymore?

I  cannot recall the last time I was talking to someone and they said something along the lines of, “Oh! I read it on this awesome blog”, or, “When I was reading the newest post from my favorite blogger…”.

The extent of my blog perusing is limited to seeking out and pressing the convenient button titled, “jump to recipe”. I gather that it is the same for almost everyone else out there. 

But! That doesn't stop the bright hope simmering within that someone, somewhere (most likely my Grandma), will find my page, read it, and actually enjoy it enough to come back and read it again. 

Once more, hi. My name is Imani and I am from Enterprise, Utah. If you haven't heard of it, that’s okay… I hadn't either until I met my husband at the ripe Mormon spinster age of twenty one. We have two beautiful children (and I mean it, they are ridiculously beautiful), one boy and one girl. 

For as long as I can remember, I’ve only been innately good at two things… taking care of others, and writing. Now, I am out of practice on the latter skill due to my focus on the first. But, the time has come for me to do something for myself (all you mama’s out there get it) and I am choosing to strengthen my creativity muscles. 

Will I give up next week? Totally possible. 

Will no one ever see this? Also possible, and totally okay with me. 

I figure if nothing else, this will serve as a platform where I can rant to my heart's desire, let out all my passive aggressive tendencies, and maybe even sort out some of the thoughts in my head that probably require a therapist. 

I’m happy to be here, doing this. I don’t know what I’ll write about… I haven’t found my niche yet. But, I will. And I’m excited to see what blogger me, a year from now, has accomplished.
